Drawing on a Realistic to Abstract Scale
Role: Illustrator
Duration: 6 Weeks
Showcasing: Drawing progression
Reference
This project involved an in-depth study of a pepper observed from multiple angles to fully understand its form, structure, and unique characteristics. By carefully analyzing these different perspectives, I was able to extract and create three distinct stylistic drawings, each showcasing a different artistic approach and interpretation. This exercise not only enhanced my observational skills but also allowed me to explore a variety of visual styles and techniques, demonstrating versatility and attention to detail in my design work.
Abstract
This piece represents a more intuitive and expressive approach to drawing the pepper, where I focused on conveying my personal feelings and emotional response to the subject rather than strict realism. This allowed for a freer, more abstract interpretation that captures the essence and mood evoked by the pepper, highlighting my ability to translate emotion into visual form and explore creative expression beyond traditional observation.
Observation
This drawing captures the pepper as I visually perceive it, emphasizing careful observation and attention to detail. Through this work, I aim to represent the pepper’s form, texture, and character with accuracy and clarity, demonstrating my skills in translating direct visual experience into a realistic and expressive illustration.
Representational
This drawing bridges both observational accuracy and abstract interpretation, capturing the pepper through a dual lens. By blending detailed texture with artistic abstraction, I aimed to infuse the piece with personality and visual interest. This approach demonstrates my ability to balance realism with creative expression, exploring the subject beyond its literal form to convey deeper artistic meaning.
